I am always delighted to see Mistletoebirds. Here it was we spotted a male and a female on one of tracks at the north end of You Yangs. They were busy pulling insect webs out of trees and totally ignored us. They might be busy building their nest somewhere nearby as Jim said.
Gum tree blossoms attract all sorts of Honeyeaters and Lorikeets. At the gate, Purple-crowned Lorikeets and Musk Lorikeets were very noise with their favourite foods. It attracted a Raptor coming to try to get one of Lorikeets. At the end Lorikeets have to run for their life. By the way, Tawny Frogmouths were nowhere to be seen.
We saw Brown-headed, White-naped, Yellow-faced, Spiny-cheeked, White-plumed and New Holland Honeyeaters as there were a lot of gum tree blossoms. Red Wattlebirds were among them.
